PRA Contingency Program for 2007
PRA Contingency Program We are working on the Contingency Program that will start off in three of our classes this year, S/C S/G and S/M. If all works out, next year we will be adding P/M and S/S. PE may follow if it becomes mandatory that you must be a PRA member to enter the class. At this time PE is still open to anyone that wants to enter. This year we’re starting with just a basic program in which each Sponsor will post to the winner of each of the three classes $25. We plan to have 15 to 20 sponsors that will require you to only run their sticker to be eligible for the contingency. You can run the Sponsor stickers you choose, or run them all. You will be given only one pair of each Sponsors stickers that you sign up to run, and will be required to run the stickers throughout the year. Racers will be responsible for replacement if they should be removed. Stickers will have to be placed in full view on both the Left and Right sides of the car. Placing stickers on the front, on the rear, on the roof, or under the car is not acceptable. Upon completion of each event the Sponsors will be notified of who the winners were in each class. It will then be the racers responsibility to contact the sponsor, thank them for their sponsorship and collect their contingency. We have informed each sponsor that this is a no tolerance program. Each sponsor will pay in check, cash or money order. No gift certificates or store credit is permitted. If you would like to be a sponsor or know of a business that would, please have them contact us at 714-639-4284 or e-mail at racepra@yahoo.com . Your business does not have to be a VW related to be a sponsor. Max paid by any one sponsor at an event is $75. Sponsors must commit to all races for the season.

Not like I want stickers on my car, but to put S/M in front of S/S and P/M is not right. What is the reasoning? If anybody needs the extra $ its the top classes.

A.J.Sims- 01-18-2007

Hi Eric. We will add ss , pm and will work on pe for next year but this year it was easy to sale $75 to a sponsor than $150. It scared them off. with $75 they had no problem jumping on bored. I picked sm, sg,sc do to car count in the three class. we tried so hard to make the perfect setup last year that we ran out of time. This year so the same thing cant happen and to just get the ball rolling we are keeping it easy and simple.

Will the payouts still be the same as last year and this is a extra supplemt to the payouts just for the winners in the three classes ? So a winner with all the stickers could get 400.00 extra ? How large will the stickers be and how many can fit on the quarter & lower side windows ? I really dont want to stick the stickers on the paint job, even though it might hide some of the road rash :)

There will be no stacking so it may get tight trying to fit them all on your Quarter windows... Here's a list of the Contingency Sponsor's on board so far... SCAT Foreign Unlimited Low Bugget.com Der Transaxle Shop Kustom 1 Warehouse Proformance Motoring Palmquist Tooling Bugformance of Sacramento Geers Engineering Clyde Berg Heads and Motors VWTurbo Kits.com Rick, I’ve taken care of it for you. I would like with your permission to add this to the post. CB Performance was inadvertently listed by mistake before conformation and due to prior sponsorship commitments will not be able to participating in the 2007 contingency program. We know they are committed to the sport by their generous sponsorship at many events throughout the years and their continued sponsorship today. We wish them the best and hope to possibly work with them in 2008. Thanks Kevin Reynolds PRA March 7, 2007

Very nice. I really appreciate the PRAs effort to secure that deal. I'm sure it will help some fellers out. Personally, I have a bit of a problem running somebody's stickers who's product or service I don't use, particularly when that company competes with someone who really helps me out. I especially don't want stickers on my paint. Since I actually only use stuff from two of those company's listed, and only one really helps me out, I reckon I'll be saving the rest of 'em money by keeping anyone else in SG from winning it!

I have a problem AJ. Maybe PRO MOD AND SUPER STREET should race elsewhere. We are the ones that bring the most expensive cars to the track....and get the smallest return. Eric C is correct.....all classses need the money! Pro Mod pays the most to ENTER at any given event...$100.00 class fee. With low car count, we get no real return. Super Street cars are the same I am sure. I would gladly accept NO class fee as part of our contingency program. Put that together with stickers/contingency, the winners in Pro Mod and Super Street would still make less then SC and SG. You need to help ALL the racers...we as a group are the PRA, not select classes! Dont drop the ball on this one..you may start losing the fast cars.

Eric pleas re-read my post. PE, SS and PM each has only 3-5 cars per class at each race. That's hard to sale to a sponsor. I know this as i'm making the calls. So like i said it was easy to get the ball rolling with the other clases (3x clases with over 40 cars) to have somthing or we would have nothing like the last few years. Some things its all about the numbers for a sponsor and not what car is faster than the next.

Matt Davis- 01-24-2007

What would it take to help out PM for sponsorship?

Rich Grise'- 01-24-2007

A.J. I juast got back from hashing out the details with my sponsor (Top-Line Concrete) for the year, and pitched him on the contingency program for Pro-Mod. If you can get some more interest going he has committed a 100$ a race to the class. Shoot me a e-mail for the details. Thank's, Rich

Eric Madson- 01-24-2007

What are the goals? I do support the action but...... You need to be attractive to the racer and potential racer. Why would someone leave Super Comp/ Super Gas or introduce a new car ( to PM AND SS)when there is more return on their investment by staying or selecting SuperComp / Super Gas? If the sponsors puts up money and EVERY PRA car runs HIS decal... 100% advertising is accomplished. That is what the sponsor wants...a return. You need to sell this in that way. Having thier name on the fas-*test*-('") VWs ( all levels) in the world is sellable. Another question and statement...when did Modified supply a full car count?! I can't remember. The racers and race cars keep the PRA alive. Thank you Rich for your effort, all the cars need help!

Matt Davis- 01-24-2007

Thank you Rich for your effort, all the cars need help! Maybe you failed to see the post right before his? And of course, still no response.

Kevin Reynolds- 01-24-2007

Matt, Rich, and Eric I spoke with AJ today about your questions and have answers to all three of your posts. Give me a moment while I compose a response to your posts, it's quite detailed. I'm in New Jersey this week and real busy with a job, so bare with me... Kevin
