Flywheel Sheilds! What's up with that! Why is Superstreet being required to run Flywheel sheilds? It states in the N.H.R.A. handbook on page 210, section 2:10:"Exception to this rule: Volkswagen and Porsche engine cars are not required to have a sheild when the engines are NORMALLY ASPIRATED AND GASOLINE BURNING." Now cars that are turboed, supercharged, running nitrous oxide are a different story. Can anyone tell me why?

Hay Paul.
Yea i do agree with you that it is a little weird. On the other hand, PRA is just trying to be pro active. They did announce this a year ago that this was coming. I have even bent up some material last week for an SS car. they did not want to get caught with their pants down going into Phx.
for the actual reason why? id say call A.J. up directly.

Think of it as ballast in a good place.

OK! But when is the last time any of us saw a "NORMALLY ASPIRATED" car blow a clutch apart? And I never got a rule book last year!!!! I even called and ask for one! By the way Mike hows the wife and kids?

Well it wasnt a clutch that came apart that i saw
wife and kids are doing great. Not going to the races any more until my youngest gets a touch older and doesnt make my wife pull her hair out, but good none the less. Amanda says Hi.
If you are going to make your own, i have a few examples on my webpage, probably about mid way down the front page now.
I saw michael meyer just make up a real nice and simple square set up too. I think Doug Gonzalas got a blanket to fit his set up. pretty dang cool .

Well I had the car over at Ron's doing some brake work and I told Ron, "just make me one" even if I don't agree with the rule. But I guess that if I want to race, it will have to be done. What about Roger's 9.99 second run at Sac! How can I complete with that?
